                    The Iceni tribe

Some little known facts regarding the Ancient British tribe the Iceni; whose
tribal lands were comprised of the modern day counties of Suffolk and Norfolk:

The Iceni were the only tribe in Britain to put their name onto their coinage.

Another remarkable discovery surrounding the Iceni tribe is the fact that they
produced four sites with coin moulds, that's more than any other tribe in Britain.
The four coin production sites are listed as follows: Needham, Saham Toney,
                  Thetford, and West Stow.

Boudicca and the druidic utterances: A poem by Alfred Lord Tennyson:

While I roved about the forest, long and bitterly meditating,

There I heard them in the darkness, at the mystical ceremony,

Loosely robed in flying raiment, sang the terrible prophetesses,

“Fear not, isle of blowing woodland, isle of silvery parapets!

Tho the Roman eagle shadow thee, tho the gathering enemy narrow thee,

Thou shalt wax and he shall dwindle, thou shalt be the mighty
one yet!

Thine the liberty, thine the glory, thine the deeds to be
Celebrated……..”””

This ode by Cowper contains two lines of a prophecy, uttered by a druid - became Boudicca's
motto inscribed upon her statue on the Thames Embankment, London.

 "Regions Caesar never knew

Thy posterity shall sway".
